Description Are you an experienced bookkeeper looking to make an impactful contribution in the nonprofit sector? Our client, a dedicated organization committed to making a difference in San Diego, CA is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled bookkeeper to join their team. Responsibilities: + Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable. + Prepare, record, and reconcile journal entries. + Process donations, grants, and other income sources in compliance with nonprofit accounting standards. + Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. + Perform bank reconciliations and ensure the integrity of financial data. + Support budgeting and forecasting processes. + Collaborate with external auditors and ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations and reporting requirements. + Contribute to the preparation of IRS Form 990 and other tax filings as needed. Requirements + Proven experience as a bookkeeper in the nonprofit industry is highly preferred. + Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar systems. + Knowledge of nonprofit-specific accounting practices, including fund accounting. + Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit reporting regulations. + High level of accuracy and attention to detail. + Excellent organizational and time-management skills. + Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders. + A degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience is a plus.
