Job Title: Lab AssistantJob Description The Lab Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting all laboratory operations by maintaining stock supplies, servicing support equipment, and ensuring high levels of organization throughout the lab and facility. Responsibilities + Perform daily walkthroughs of all lab spaces, complete checklists, and inspect for safety concerns, cleanliness, and organization in accordance with 5S recommendations. + Maintain common stock supply by performing routine checks of inventory in designated lab areas, recording stock volume, alerting the Lab Manager of shortages, and ensuring continuous availability. + Install, maintain, and relocate instruments and equipment by supporting new installations, escorting service personnel, maintaining faulty equipment under supervision, and coordinating safe relocation with Facilities personnel. Essential Skills + Experience in chemistry or chemical lab environment. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat. + High School diploma or GED equivalent. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Chemical lab experience is preferred. + Technical knowledge in electronics and mechanics. + Attention to detail in record keeping and documentation. + Familiarity with asset management systems. + Strong commitment to safety and adherence to protocols. + Ability to work collaboratively. Work Environment The position is based in an office/lab environment, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Regular use of hands and fingers for computer and equipment operation is necessary. The role involves standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
