Job Title: PeopleSoft Functional Architect (Absence Management & Payroll)
Location: Harrisburg, PA 17120 (potential for hybrid/remote work, discussed during interview)
Duration: 12 Months (Contract, with strong likelihood of extension)
We are seeking an experienced PeopleSoft Functional Architect to lead the implementation and integration of the Absence Management module with an existing PeopleSoft Payroll system. The ideal candidate will bring both strategic insight and hands-on expertise, leveraging deep functional and technical knowledge to design, configure, and deliver scalable solutions. This role is key in enhancing the HCM ecosystem and requires strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead the end-to-end implementation of PeopleSoft 9.2 Absence Management, ensuring seamless integration with Payroll.
Analyze stakeholder business needs and translate them into effective PeopleSoft configurations and functional designs.
Collaborate with HR, Payroll, and IT teams to design, test, and deploy application solutions.
Provide expert production support, troubleshoot system issues, and resolve problem tickets in a timely manner.
Design and execute test plans, document defects, and coordinate resolution with technical teams.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including functional specifications, process flows, and configuration guides.
Review existing PeopleSoft processes and recommend enhancements for continuous optimization.
Conduct training sessions and provide knowledge transfer to business users.
Support project management with planning, resource estimation, and work prioritization.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical study.
5+ years of PeopleSoft Functional/Technical Consultant experience with a proven track record in Absence Management and Payroll modules.
Hands-on expertise with PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 modules (HR, Payroll, Absence Management).
Strong knowledge of the Fluid User Interface design and functionality.
Proven ability to analyze business requirements and deliver effective functional/technical solutions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Experience providing production support and meeting SLA-driven issue resolution.
Experience working in State or Local Government environments.
Proficiency in SQL scripting for data analysis and validation.
Strong attention to detail in functional documentation and reporting.
